Received a wonderful 4-star review today on Amazon for Burnin’ for You!
Jamie has combined two novellas for these story into one novel. I must say it was a great move. Firstly, this is my first read for this author. I found she has made sure she strongly researched the workings of a fire team and a medical team, working together for the service of the public. They give their all, risking their lives for everyone they come in contact with.
For this story we meet Lucas Taylor a NYC fireman who lost his lover Ryan in a tragic accident. A need to drown his sorrows and needing human contact, Lucas has a hook-up at a neighborhood bar with a sexy stranger.
Evan Singer is a paramedic transferred into Station 127 surprising both men after sharing that night of passion. Now between riding with Lucas on the fire truck, and riding with Evan as part of the paramedic team we get to see the horrors of fire and the terrible risk these people face not only daily but hourly at their jobs. The words on the pages raced as I felt the heat, smelled the smoke, saw the blood and all the aftermath ; at what a blaze does to the building and inhabitants.
When Lucas discovers that Evan is a paramedic, you can only groan….Will Lucas turn away????? There is sooo much more to this story. Do not want to give spoilers.
Since this is my first read for this author, I had no expectations, so I must tell you that the strength of this author’s storytelling made the reader live the job first, then love the characters more. There is a wonderful story here and this book will not be my last.
A wonderful read!!!! Thank you Jamie….I will need more to read of yours!
