4.5 STARS for Hunted Soldier!

Hunted cover FINAL 6x9 150 dpi

Many thanks to Tammy at Love Bytes for the great review!

Shawn and Connor have discovered they’ve not recovered as well as they’d thought from their wounds, emotional and physical, that they received in Kuala Lumpur then Pakistan. Conner is still struggling to come to terms with the fact that he caused the death of a child, it doesn’t matter that it was an accident. The last thing Connor needs is news that the man responsible for the deaths of his family has died in prison. This sends Connor into a downward spiral of memories that lead to feelings of guilt and depression. After Connor has been notified he starts to see the murderer’s son around town. The next thing he knows, Connor is being followed, he has a car accident where he ends up in hospital. Connor isn’t sure who or why these things are happening to him now.

The next mission has come in and this time Shadow Unit are off to Bangladesh. This time the team are after a cartel that is known for drugs and people smuggling, only this time they’re smuggling terrorists into the UK. Once in Bangladesh Connor and Shawn discover it has all been a set-up. That is when they realise that this is the culmination of their previous missions in Kuala Lumpur and Pakistan. This time the mission is even deadlier than the previous ones because the target has lost everything and believes he has nothing left to lose.

I highly recommend you grab a copy of Jamie Lynn’s Hunted Soldier and join Connor and Shawn on their next adventure. If you haven’t read the previous two books in Shadow Unit series I suggest you start with book one, Broken Soldier then onto Rogue Soldier before you read Hunted Soldier as this is a series that needs to be read “in order” to get the full impact of the workings of Shadow Unit.

A good, rough, ready, macho man series.
I really enjoy reading about Connor and Shawn.
They haven’t had it easy in any book and this one is no exception….
Still recovering from previous injuries, emotional and physical, they are getting ready to sign up the new recruits to replace their lost soldiers.
When a new mission comes up, they are ready to go!
The trouble is, not only are they facing a new enemy but are still dealing with hidden ones from the past.
More injuries, bloodshed and struggles are heading their way, surely at some stage their luck will run out…
These men fight hard, play hard and love even harder. Each page has a new twist to the story and this book kept me hooked just like the previous two.
5 out of 5 stars.

5 STARS for His Fragile Heart!

Heart cover FINAL

Many thanks to Linda Tonis at the PRG for this wonderful 5 STAR review!

Two years ago, an automobile accident left Nathan Marshall in a coma and his partner Mark dead. For four years, Mark and Nathan lived together and loved together and worked at making it in Hollywood. Finally, things were going their way. Nathan was finally working and Mark had written a screenplay which he hoped to sell and have produced. Unfortunately, an accident ended Mark’s dreams, but Nathan was determined to get his screenplay produced as an honor to the man he loved and lost.
One night Nathan took up an offer to go to a new restaurant with some friends. There he met a young waiter, Justin Kowalski, who would change his life. There was an instant attraction between the two men, and they felt that they had known each other before. Since Mark’s death Nathan has not had any desire to be with anyone but Justin changed that.
Nathan and Justin found each other and their love for each other grew, but something would be revealed that would change everything and possibly put an end to their relationship. Of course, I won’t reveal what happened, but I will say that this book was a beautiful story of love and loss, a story that touched my heart.

5 STARS for Out of the Shadows!

Out of the Shadows cover KINDLE

Twenty-eight-year-old Shane Walker has had his dream come true when he moves from Tulsa to the L.A.P.D. as a new K-9 officer. When he and his training officer are called to the home of Tyler Donovan, an actor that Shane has had a crush on for years, he finds the man he thought had it all was a man who was living in the shadows.

Tyler has been living with his boyfriend, Alex Campbell. Everyone saw them as a happy couple, but the truth was anything but. Tyler is a victim of abuse, abuse he takes because he feels responsible. Time and time again when the police have been called, Tyler has come up with excuses and refused to press charges. This time Alex.

Shane couldn’t let what happened go without saying something and he needed to make Tyler realize the danger of living with an abuser. Shane had firsthand information on abuse and what could happen. He makes Tyler see what abuse can lead to. Shane befriends Tyler and tries to make him leave his guilt behind. Can Shane make Tyler whole again? Can Tyler find love again without fear? These are the questions Shane wants answered as his feelings for Tyler grow deeper and deeper.

This was a beautiful story about two men brought together by grief and fear, and a story that makes it clear that women are not the only ones abused. There are men out there who are abused every day, even men who have the means to get free. Unlike many people out there, Tyler has money, a home and can easily leave his abuser behind. Like so many others, he doesn’t. I could have done this review without mentioning the abuse, but it is a very important subject and one that needs to be brought into the open.

I loved Tyler and Shane and especially Shane’s partner, his German Shepherd, Chase. This story touched on a serious issue and the author did a wonderful job in tackling it.

4.5 STARS for Burnin’ for You!

4.5 STARS for Burnin’ for You from Freya at Sinfully Gay Book Reviews!

Freya’s Book Brief

In this double instalment, I was treated to a mega dose of action, emotion and some excellent man lovin’. Three things Jamie Lynn Miller does extremely well. Add to that the deliciousness of firemen and we’re onto a winner.

When fireman Luke lost his love, Ryan, in an explosion, he vowed never to date anyone from the job again. Then he encountered Evan, and the embers of a fire ignited in his soul that he didn’t know he was capable of. But, Evan was in the business, too, and that was a relationship Luke couldn’t let happen.

Every time a fireman attends a call, it could be his last. The heartache of losing a loved one is too much for Luke. But, not having someone you care about, is almost as heartbreaking.

Burnin’ For You focusses on the development of the relationship between Luke and Evan and the events that cement it. The intricacy of the scenes shows that some serious research was done into firefighting. Short of a few autonomous body parts and some passive rather than active phrasing; the pages are filled with a heady combination of adrenaline fuelled scenes.

Book Two – Where There’s Smoke, doesn’t hold back on the action either. It was nice to see that the author was unafraid to show that not every incident has a happy ending.

The main arc in this book has Lucas snagging himself an admirer, after saving the man’s life. Unfortunately, the admirer has a different twisted way of showing his thanks, believing divine intervention has played a hand in their meeting.

Again, there is action on all fronts; firefighting, plot and intimate. Can’t go into too much detail as individually the stories are not long and I don’t want to give everything away. But, as a pair, they make for a full-length novel – one I couldn’t stop reading.

If you are a reader that has hankered for a good fireman story – this is one/two.

BLURB: Lucas Taylor is a hard-working New York City fireman at Station 127, dedicated to his job, even though it has brought him heartrending tragedy – the loss of his lover, Ryan, in an explosion a year ago.
Evan Singer is the new guy in town, a paramedic transferred into Station 127 from San Antonio, and he sets his eyes on Lucas from the get-go.
Neither knowing who the other is, their first meeting is explosive, a night of passion and desire that awakens something inside Lucas he never thought he’d feel again.
But when Lucas discovers that Evan is a paramedic, it all comes crashing down. For despite the feelings he has for Evan, Lucas has vowed to never again get involved with someone on the job, after losing Ryan to it.
Can Evan convince Lucas to open up his heart and take a chance on love again, despite who Evan is?
It’s five months later and Lucas is nearly a full-fledged paramedic. But becoming a medic means no longer being able to work with Evan at Station 127 and giving up his chance at a promotion to Lieutenant. As graduation looms, will Lucas change his mind? Then add in a young man Lucas rescues from a fire that becomes an obsessed stalker, and Evan’s altercation with a victim’s husband that threatens his career, and things turn explosive at the FDNY.

5 STARS for the Shadow Unit series!

This is truly an incredible series. But first and foremost: TRIGGER WARNINGS FOR VIOLENCE AND DRUG USE. Jamie Lynn Miller did such an incredible job on this whole series. I was addicted to it from the begging to the end. I did not want to put any of the books down until I completed them. That is just how amazing they was.

The Shadow Unit is an elite unit made up of men and women that are the best of the best. They are all military trained in some form or fashion and they need to be because of the situations they find themselves in on almost a daily basis. When there is an op that needs the experts to be able to take the bad guy, Shadow Unit is the ones called in.

These books are based around primarily two main characters, Connor and Shawn. They are partners both on and off the field and they work together like one. If not for the help of their whole unit, they may not be as successful as they are but there is no doubt that without each other they may not make it out of the tight spots they find themselves in on a regular basis.

This two men are what pulls the other out of the dangerous situations and grounds them back into reality. If they did not have one another, they would be truly lost.

This read has a lot of danger but at the same time Shawn and Connors personal relationship with one another seems to balance the bad with the good they have together.

This series is truly an incredible read and is definitely a series that I would put on my highly recommended read list. I think that Jamie Lynn Miller is an amazing author and I truly hope there will be more books in this series in the future. Incredible read!!!!!
